Sunday (un)Fun Day

I like this picture. We are on our way into church and for the first time in quite a few weeks, everyone is happy going to church. Why does the devil seem to try to make church a non-happy time for us? For some reason, the mere thought of getting everyone including myself dressed and looking nice and fed and into the nursery or pew on time makes me not a very fun Christian. I know this is a problem for me and this week I really tried to work on communicating with Michael better about what needed to be done to get five people out the door, keeping it simple, not feeling stressed and overall not being grumpy with everyone... I still have a long way to go, but there was progress. And we were a miraculous five minutes early!

Blue skies

Y'all, this is a really good phase of my life.  I feel so blessed.  This afternoon, we sat at a round patio table, surrounded by a few dear friends under some giant oak trees, while our kids ran wild at our neighborhood pool.  I can't remember if I wrote about it or not, but we LUCKED OUT last winter when I randomly searched Craiglist for a pool membership for our neighborhood pool and by God, there was one, so I jumped on it.  Our neighborhood pool is a hot commodity with a long waiting list (we were on it for FOUR years!!! prior to my lucky day).  The dues haven't changed in like 20 years, so it's very reasonable in cost.   It is a nice, but not fancy facility with a covered playground, tennis, well-kept pools and a basketball court.  There are a set number of memberships, so it's not terribly crowded. The best part about it, in my opinion, is that they are very informal and don't care if you bring drinks, as long as they are not in glass containers.  They also play really good music.  We are having such a fun summer!

Look at John Michael jumping off the diving board!  He has wanted to do this for a few weeks, but chickened out every time.  With Noah's water wings, he finally got the courage to do it.  And, then did it again eleventy-billion times.  My favorite were the jumps in tandem with Michael.  He is swimming SO well since the Swim Nazi.  It was worth every penny.
And what was Aaron doing this whole time while we were swimming and having an afternoon brew?  Taking a nap in his carseat.  God bless that child.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up :)

Aaron is 3 months

Oh, I am so behind on my blogging.  Aaron has been officially 3 months since last week.  I promise this blog won't turn in to me always talking about my kids developmental milestones!  I'm just WORN OUT and the nights consist of bedtime and then QT with me and the Michael.  We are currently watching 60 minutes and drinking wine.  Old!  I digress

Look at this cute pumpkin sitting!

Seriously, y'all, Aaron is an ANGEL baby.  He is straight from the arms of heaven, he is so happy happy happy.  I've heard people say that their babies got more chilled out as they went up in birthorder and that has definitely been the case with my kids.  JM was relatively happy, but we had no idea what we were doing and he liked to let us know it.  Noah was sweet and easy.  Aaron is just pure happiness and love.  He is so easygoing.  Thank you, God!   You knew I couldn't handle any more than this!!!

Gurgling and cooing, Aaron is almost always content.  His favorite friend is the ceiling fan.  Seriously, sometimes he'd rather watch the fan than nurse.  He's eating great (as you can see) and sleeping pretty good, too.  We went to the doctor last week and he is almost 15 pounds!!!  At one point with John Michael (who was coincidentally only 10 lbs at 4!!! months), our pediatrician told me that I might have skim milk breastmilk, so I very much appreciate this chunky monkey.  He not only has rolls his brothers never did, but he is also very long!  He is already in 9 month clothes :(  The 6 month ones aren't long enough.

This morning, I was trying to take his picture with two two year-olds and a four year-old distracting him, trying to peel off his stickers, trying to hold him, etc., so these aren't the best, but a good reflection on the state of our lives right now.  There are always neighbor kids over and I love it!

I love to suck on my fists!

So long!
